Click on the edit pen for your desired contact under master data to upload a contact picture.
Your specified thumbnail size now appears in the pop-up window as a hint. Upload an image and crop it according to the width and height ratio. The aspect ratio is already fixed by your thumbnail settings and you only have to determine the part of the image to be displayed by dragging the mouse over the image.
