1Tool Field

The app for everyone working away from a desk

Cleaning, assembly, service, building sites: your people record their hours, work through their shifts, take photos, fill in reports and collect signatures — on their own phone, without an app store, and even when there is no signal in the basement. The office sees all of it the same second.

Runs in the browser — nothing to install, nothing to roll out.

Ready in two minutes

No app store, no device management

Field is a web app. It runs in the browser of any phone or tablet and can be pinned to the home screen like an app. There is nothing to roll out, nothing to approve and nothing to update.

  1. 1

    Open the address

Go to field.1tool.com in the browser — Android, iPhone, iPad, company phone or private one.

  2. 2

    Add to the home screen

One tap in the browser menu and Field sits next to the other apps. It opens full screen, without an address bar.

  3. 3

With the 1Tool account and a two-factor code, or simply by SMS to the stored number. Customers can sign in too and follow their own cases.

What Field does

Everything that comes up on site, in one hand

Field shows each person only what they need for their day. Which entries appear in the menu is decided in the office, through that employee’s permissions.

  • Time tracking

Clock in and out with a tap, by scanning a QR code or by holding the phone against an NFC tag. Optionally only within range of the site — if the device loses its position, tracking stops by itself and records why.

  • Shifts with services

The shift starts at the property by QR or NFC. The services attached to it are ticked off, breaks run alongside, notes and photos stay with the service they belong to.

  • Tasks and tickets

Accept, comment on and close tasks — and raise a new ticket straight from the shift when something turns up on site.

  • Photos and video

A photo, or video up to 60 seconds with sound, straight from the app. Images can be cropped and marked up before they land on the job.

  • Reports and inspections

Inspection records and surveys are filled in at the project — with follow-up questions that open depending on the answer, and photos as evidence.

  • Signature on the screen

Customer and employee sign on the device itself. The signature travels back into the system with the document.

  • Selling on site

Leads, opportunities, orders, contracts and invoices are all there. A quote can be written at the customer’s place and signed on the spot.

  • Contacts and documents

Master data, visit reports, follow-ups, documents and a chat with the office — plus a dashboard each person arranges for themselves.

A day with Field

From setting off to clocking out

This is how the day runs in most of the companies that use Field.

  1. In the morning

A glance at the dashboard: which shifts, projects and tasks are due today? The route follows from the appointments.

  2. Arriving on site

Hold the phone against the NFC tag or scan the QR code on the distribution box. The clock is running, the shift is open, the services are on screen.

  3. While working

Tick off services, take photos, report anything unexpected as a ticket, fill in the inspection record. Questions for the office go through the chat.

  4. Finishing up

The customer signs on the screen, the shift is closed, the time is recorded. The office can invoice straight away.

Building site without mobile reception
Without a signal

In the basement, in the shell, in a dead spot

The places where the work happens are often the places with no reception. So Field does not stop when the connection drops: a banner shows that you are working offline, and work continues on the data last loaded.

Hours, tasks, comments, reports and signatures are stored on the device and sent as soon as there is a signal again. A “Synchronisation” entry shows at any time how many records are still waiting — nobody has to guess whether something arrived.

Works offline:

  • Starting, stopping and correcting time tracking
  • Working through shifts and ticking off services
  • Creating and commenting on tasks
  • Filling in reports and inspection records
  • Taking signatures
Field and the 1Tool Suite

Recorded outside, visible inside at once

Field is not a separate island. It works on the same data as the 1Tool Suite in the office: the same customers, the same projects, the same orders. What the technician records at 9:14 is in the Suite at 9:14.

That ends the copying of paper slips. Recorded time becomes the invoice, the photo becomes the evidence, the signed report becomes the attachment. The follow-up questions disappear because nobody has to retype anything.

Who it is for

Built for companies with people out in the field

Field belongs where the work does not happen at a desk.

  • Cleaning and facility

Properties, shifts, service schedules and the proof that everything was done.

  • Trades and assembly

Site hours, photo documentation, inspection records and the customer’s signature.

  • Service and maintenance

Tickets, follow-ups, inspection surveys and spare parts on the job.

  • Field sales

Visit reports, leads, opportunities and quotes written at the customer’s place.

Common questions

What companies ask before they start

Do we have to install the app from an app store?

No. Field is a web app: you open field.1tool.com in the browser and add the page to the home screen. From then on it behaves like an installed app. Updates arrive on their own; there is nothing to roll out.

Does it work on private phones?

Yes. Nothing is installed that reaches into the device. The employee signs in and out; no company data stays behind on the phone beyond what they are allowed to see anyway.

Is the location recorded all the time?

No. The location is only used if you tie time tracking to a radius, and only while tracking is running. If the signal is lost, tracking stops and the reason is noted. There is no movement history.

What if the phone has no signal all day?

Work carries on. Everything recorded stays on the device and is transmitted as soon as there is reception again. Under “Synchronisation” everyone can see how many entries are still open.

Can our customers get in as well?

Yes. Besides employees, a customer can sign in and see the cases released to them — the state of their tickets, for example.

How do our employees get Field?

Through the 1Tool Suite. There you decide who may use Field and which menu entries they see — from someone who only records time to a field rep writing quotes. Which licence you need for that, we work out together.
