Account statement in 1Tool: balance from the start or from the last closing?

Anyone who opens an account statement usually has one of two questions in mind: how has the account developed since the last balance sheet date, or what does the complete history look like since records began? 1Tool answers both questions with a single view, the account movements, which can be switched flexibly between two balance modes and between gross and net values.

Two balance modes for different perspectives

In the account statement view, you can choose whether the balance is calculated "from last balance" or "from zero". The "from last balance" mode shows the development since the last balance sheet date, which makes it ideal for routine day-to-day checks when you want to see quickly how an account has changed since the last closing. The "from zero" mode, on the other hand, shows the complete history from the very beginning. This is useful when you need a full overview of how the account has developed over time, for example for a more extensive analysis or to answer a query.

Gross or net, as required

In addition to the balance mode, you can switch between gross and net values, and this applies equally to debit, credit and balance. Gross values include VAT, net values show the amounts excluding VAT. This toggle is particularly handy when your tax advisor sends a query that refers to one of the two values, or when you want to switch between the two perspectives yourself at short notice without converting the figures by hand. The opening balance is shown separately, so it can be clearly distinguished from the ongoing movements.
